21 Mar ‘Groundwater: Making The Invisible Visible’
‘Groundwater: Making The Invisible Visible’ is the theme of World Water Day 2022, proposed by IGRAC. It was presented yesterday at the opening session of the 9th World Water Forum in Dakar, Senegal.
Water is an essential building block of existence; each year March 22 is celebrated as World Water Day to raise public awareness about the significance of fresh water and sustainable management of this significant resource. Approximately 99% of all liquid freshwater on earth, groundwater provides societies with a huge number of benefits and opportunities. But experts say due to anthropogenic hazards major water depletion and pollution are now affecting the life and livelihood of billions of people.
Water is undoubtedly one of our most valuable resources and we all have a duty of care to both protect and preserve both the water and wider environment. Water pollution can have an adverse effect on wildlife, their habitats as well as humans. It can be damaging to the economy and extremely costly to those causing or allowing the pollution to occur. Spills and leaks from industrial sites are one of the major causes of water contamination.
Ecospill’s products are designed to help contain the spread of industrial spills, especially in areas where their escape from site can mean the contamination of controlled waters. We can help you to identify likely spill hazards on your site as well as their consequential impacts, help you select the right type of product and provide the appropriate level of spill training to operators and first responders. Contact Ecospill today to see how we can help you protect the environment!
