Racing Forward: Billy Askew Heads to Trentino After Historic British Win

At Ecospill, we believe in working together to protect and care for the environment, industry, and its people. That belief doesn’t stop at our spill response products and services – It powers everything we do, including backing young British talent who are pushing their limits and leading by example.

Enter Billy Askew.

On Sunday, 31st March, 17-year-old Billy stormed to his first ever British Championship MX2 Pro Race win at the fearsome Hawkstone Park circuit. Representing the Dirt Store Triumph Racing Team and riding the all-new Triumph 250X, Billy made motocross history, securing the first British Championship race win for Triumph’s fresh 250cc machine and proving himself as one of the UK’s most exciting young riders.

And this is only the beginning.

Next Up: MXGP of Trentino – 13th April

Billy now turns his attention to the European stage, where he’ll line up at the MXGP of Trentino in Italy this Sunday (13th April), competing in Round 3 of the European MX2 Championship. With momentum on his side and confidence in the tank, he’s ready to take on the continent’s best and continue writing his story.

Why Ecospill Sponsors Billy Askew

Sponsorship, to us, isn’t about slapping a logo on a kit and calling it a day. It’s about backing people – real, passionate, committed people – who share our values.

Billy embodies that drive. He puts in the work, stays grounded, and performs when it matters. Just like our teams out in the field – keeping workplaces safe, spills under control, and sustainability at the forefront. Thats why we’ve been sponsoring Billy for a number of years.

And let’s face it – he’s fast, fearless, and not afraid to get his hands (and visor) dirty!. We can get behind that.

We’ll be following Billy’s progress this weekend and cheering him on from back in the UK, wishing he were out in Italy with him. No matter the result, we’re proud to be part of his journey.

Because when people push boundaries and do things the right way, that’s when real progress happens. Whether it’s on the track, in the ring or in the workplace, we move forward together.

Good luck in Trentino, Billy & the team. We’re right behind you.
