This year Ecospill is celebrating its 10^th anniversary, which is a fantastic achievement made possible by our dedicated team members and a vast network of partners across the UK and beyond.

A lot has happened over the last decade. It all began when our directors, Mark Hutchinson and Mark Sanderson, decided that more needed to be done to keep industrial premises safe and productive through advanced spill management. As a result, Ecospill was founded with a crystal clear mission, which was massively accelerated the following year when we were awarded a £1.2m contract to supply a major national distributor. This was exactly the opportunity we needed to show the world what we can do, and we’ve never looked back.

Since those early days, Ecospill has rapidly expanded its product range to accommodate the needs of businesses across multiple sectors, including oil and gas, utilities, food and beverage, medical, construction, civil engineering and aerospace. The diversity of these industries means that we need to constantly innovate in order to stay one step ahead of the game, which is a challenge that our spill management specialists relish.

But that’s not all, as the last ten years have also seen us become part of the Schoeller Group of companies, representing our commitment to creating effective supply chain systems. We also acquired a 50% share of Dirteeze Wipes, further developed our own range of high-performance absorbents, and won National Distributor Vendor of the Year Award… twice. Another thing we did twice was move premises in response to continued business growth, with our current home being a purpose-built 40,000 square feet facility where the highest calibre of spill prevention systems are developed and delivered to international companies.

As is the case with every business, 2020 brought some unwelcome surprises. However, in spite of the lockdown and the current limitations that are in place, Ecospill has continued to provide exceptional service to our supply chain. With adaptability at the core of everything we do, we’ve ensured that our comprehensive site surveys remain available. This has been achieved by temporarily offering a virtual version, enabling businesses to remain spill prepared and compliant without a member of our team having to visit your premises.

We’re sure you’ve noticed that we’ve also launched our brand new website, which went live to coincide with our tenth anniversary. The site has been designed around the visitor’s needs, providing full information on everything from containment and Spill Kits to the hugely popular Plant Nappy and our versatile Spill Training courses.
