About Pat and Luke
The 26-year-old twins hail from the North East of England and are both affiliated with Birtley ABC. Pat competed in the men’s light welterweight event at the 2016 Summer Olympics and is the 2018 69kg Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist. In 2019, he was selected to compete at the European Games in Belarus and also competed at the World Championships in Russia, where he won the silver medal.
Pat’s twin brother Luke won his own silver medal in the 2017 European Championships and also competed at the 2019 European Games and 2019 World Championships.
The twins are off to Tokyo
A pair of born winners, Pat claimed the gold medal in the final of the European Olympic Qualifiers in Paris by beating World Champion Andrei Zamkovoi. Meanwhile, Luke beat Turkey’s Tugrulhan Erdemir to secure his place alongside his brother at this year’s Games. This will be Luke’s first time at the Olympics and Pat’s second.
The McCormack twins are fighting fit and we can’t wait to see them represent Great Britain on the international stage.
A longstanding relationship

Get ready for Tokyo 2020
Having been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Summer Olympics will take place in Tokyo from 23rd July to 8th August. With 11,091 athletes from 206 nations expected to compete in 339 events, it’s set to be a hotly anticipated celebration of athletic excellence.
The official slogan for the Tokyo Olympics is ‘United by Emotion’, which could not be more fitting. After over a year of hardship, delays and confusion caused by the pandemic, the prestigious event is all set to bring everyone together again. This year’s Games will also see the introduction of new competitions, including 3×3 basketball, freestyle BMX and madison cycling, making it a truly exciting line-up of competitive skill and sportsmanship (needless to say, the boxing remains our favourite).

There will be 13 boxing tournaments at the Tokyo Olympics, with competitors taking part from 76 nations. We can’t wait to see Pat and Luke give it their all and everyone at Ecospill will be cheering them on.
